Why don't you use skim milk?

Because when you take out the fat, you lose more than just creaminess. Milk naturally contains fat-soluble vitamins like A, D, E, and K—nutrients your body needs fat to absorb. Without the fat, your body can’t properly use those nutrients. Even worse? What’s left is basically sugar water—which can spike your blood sugar and mess with your gut, especially if you’re sensitive. We use whole milk because it supports digestion, keeps your blood sugar more stable, and delivers the full flavor and nutrition nature intended.

Isn’t skim milk healthier?

Only if you’re judging by calories alone. Skim milk strips out the good fats your gut needs to function, leaving behind a processed liquid that’s harder to digest and way less satisfying. We’re not here for low-fat fads—we’re here for real food that loves you back.

What is A2 milk and why do you use it?

Most milk on the market contains a protein called A1 beta-casein, which many people find hard to digest. A2 milk comes from cows that naturally produce only the A2 beta-casein—a type of protein that’s closer to what humans have been drinking for thousands of years. It’s the kind of milk your body actually recognizes. For many, that means less bloating, fewer stomach issues, and a smoother experience overall—without giving up the creamy texture or rich taste of real milk. We choose A2 milk because we believe great ice cream shouldn’t come with gut problems. Just clean, real ingredients your body and taste buds can agree on.

What materials are your pints made of?

Our pints are made of recyclable paperboard with a food-safe liner. We use materials that keep your ice cream fresh while being better for the planet.

What’s the difference between refined and unrefined sugar?

Refined sugar is what happens when you bleach and process the life out of something, then sell it back to people as “normal.” We use unrefined organic maple syrup—because it’s actually from nature, still has minerals intact, and tastes the way sweetness is supposed to. Crazy idea: sweeteners should still be food.

Is there a difference between organic and non-organic?

Yes. Organic ingredients are grown without synthetic pesticides, hormones, or GMOs. They’re better for your body and the planet. Using all organic ingredients means fewer toxins, better nutrition, and cleaner flavor. It's better for your health, the environment, and the farmers who grow the food.

Is your ice cream gluten free?

Yes! Our core flavors are naturally gluten-free.

Where do your ingredients come from?

We source from farms and producers we trust—always prioritizing organic, high-integrity ingredients that meet our standards for quality, ethics, and flavor.

What are seed oils and why don’t you use them?

Seed oils (like canola, soybean, sunflower) are ultra-processed industrial oils that somehow ended up in nearly every food product—don’t ask us how. They’re high in inflammatory omega-6 fats and were never meant to be part of a real, nourishing diet. We don’t touch them because your body deserves better—and your ice cream definitely does too.

Why don’t you use any gums or stabilizers? Don’t they keep food fresh?

That’s what they want you to think. Gums, stabilizers, emulsifiers—whatever you want to call them—are cheap fillers used to fake texture, extend shelf life, and cut corners. Some brands even claim they’re “good for you.” We’ll pass. We use real ingredients your body actually recognizes. Because ice cream shouldn't come with a chemistry lesson.

What is grass-fed milk?

Grass-fed milk comes from cows that eat what nature intended—grass, not grains or corn. That means more nutrients (like omega-3s and CLA), better animal welfare, and richer, creamier flavor. It’s milk the way it was meant to be—clean, wholesome, and closer to the source.

What makes you different from other ice cream brands?

We keep it real—literally. We use A2 milk that’s easier to digest, skip refined sugars in favor of organic maple syrup, and completely avoid seed oils, gums, and stabilizers. No shortcuts. No fake health claims. Just clean, relevant, nutrient-dense ingredients that taste like ice cream should.

Why did you start I Want Frankie's?

It started with taking back our health. We cleaned up how we ate—but when we looked for a sweet treat that didn’t wreck our gut, it didn’t exist. Everything was loaded with gums, seed oils, and processed junk. So we made our own ice cream with just 5 real ingredients. It was rich, clean, and delicious. And we kept asking: If we can make this at home, why aren’t the big brands doing the same? So… we decided to do it ourselves.
